Subject: Goldscanner Pro questions.

I'm kinda curious re. the Goldscanner pro in comparison to other detectors being sold today. Has anyone done any head to head testing with other prospecting/multipurpose units re. depth & sensitivity to small gold? Can one obtain info re. modifying the unit for greater performance, without having to send it back to the factory? Right now I have a Cobra II which has been modded (variable SAT, 20 turn GB, variable thresh) & it will easily pick up a 1 grain nugget (with the small coil) at about 1.5", even in disc. mode. The 8" coil will just barely find it. Thing is, my buddy wants to buy it off me, so I'll be looking for another unit. Right now I'm leaning towards a Baron Cointrax II, but I want to keep my options open. Up in the areas I stomp the ground is incredibly hot, some areas overload my GTI 1500 when it gets any closer than 6" to the ground, regardless of sensitivity settings. This would probably make it a bear to use the higher frequency units (GMT, GB 2) & I want a multipurpose unit anyway. ..Willy.
