Thanks for all the input, it's appreciated. Well I went to the Interstate Battery depot here in Las Cruces and bought myself a deep cycle 12v, 33Ahr battery that weighs around 15 lbs. I think I can handle that easily enough. I'd heard of folks using motorcycle batteries but had my doubts about lasting all day which would only be half hour runs 4 to 5 times a day, approximately. Deep cycle batteries are built to be run down to around forty percent of total capacity before recharging. Regular batteries used for starting engines with a lot of up front power just won't have much of a life span under those conditions I'm told. Anyway that's what I've got to start with as far as batteries are concerned. Now what about a small solar panel with a capacity to recharge at 1 or 2amps per hour? Am I talking about something that will be too big to strap on an ATV and use hooked up to the battery, just as a helper, while I'm drywashing? Actual recharging would take place while I'm taking a break and at lunch time, that sort of thing. That way I wouldn't have to worry about running the battery too far down during a busy day :o)What do you think? Bad idea?

By the way, I've had a great deal of experience drywashing and have done quite well! I've used "constant air" and "hand crank bellows" drywashers. However, I've never used a battery powered bellows drywasher before. Continued input will be appreciated so don't stop now. Thanks!
