Hey Jim! Yup, there's an unlocked gate.. pretty scary, eh? At least my bud thought so. Right now the grizzly & black bears are out & hungry for Willy's lilly white a$$, but that doesn't worry me much. What DOES worry me though is having my Winnie break down or get stuck 10 miles into the mountains. I'm temted to just wing it & drive in, but I only have the one RV (a lot of $'s tied up in it) & having it towed out is not an option, if it were to go kaput. At the moment I'm waffling between buying a beater to get up there or finsh building my recumbent tricycle & pedal in with dog & equipment. The best course might be the trike 'cause if there's a backwoods ban this year (looks likely 'cause the forest is already tinder dry) they might lock the gate. Having my claim gives me the same rights as a private property owner insofar as they can't kick me off unless there's a fire encroaching, but they can lock the gate & thereby deny me access. With a trike I can, in essence flip them the bird & pedal on through.. no steenking gate would stop me. ..Willy.
