Willy... Just in my opinion: if a monoloop/concentric makes the trip I have learned to use it. Having more sensitivity to smaller gold makes a big difference... There are a lot of smaller nuggets than a bigger one. However, if working around (under) brush and between big rocks and rough terrain a smaller elliptical DD is sensitive fron the toe to the heel... good to push straight into the brush.

The 10x14 DD just seems to be(?) not sensitive to the smaller pieces... The Minelab SD/GS's with one of the auxilary coils are better(?) choices over the Infinium with the standard DD.

If the mineralization allows... use a VLF instead. But with a VLF the DD may be a better(?) choice over a mono/concentric.

However, what seems to work in my hunting grounds may not work in your area... I fully understand your liking a DD.
