Hi Jim!

Thanks for the compliment, what'd I do? At anyrate you got my attention.
Am going out to Goler tomorrow. Going to see if I can drill through the Caliche in the riverbed just above Mormon Gulch to see if there's any goodies underneath where the old spring was.

Got the 6.5" coil on my Diablo II to do the snooping around once I punch through and hopefully can get to where I can chisel it off in chunks. To be honest I dont know how close bedrock is,but it can't be too far down as it appears at the mouth of Mormon Gulch which is downstream (a naive assumption to be sure :>) ).

Then down to this old claim on the east side of the Taft club just below the ridge road. Used to be a trommel there as recent as Jan., went there two weeks ago-no more trommel!

Got some coarse gold there and will hit the bushes like you do and see if somebody left me a crumb!
