Very good post. I have been going into this broad area since 1962 and knew Mr. Harold Beck well. Had the privilage of cranking his drywasher and "jawing" with him in the middle 1960's. He was always hoping to find the clip-zone from a Tertiary Channel.

I loved reading your post. Referring to the "old man" at the General Store, if he had a "shock of white hair" it was probably John Kittell. He is younger than I am :-. Also the local women say he is better looking:~

As to how many bullet fragments?, this is usually all I find, and I have lost count as to the ratio.

Next chance, if on a weekend, go up the street to the big red building. Clara Salwasser. Consider buying a copy from her written by Ben Thompson. If Ben is around have him autograph it.

I hope to meet up with you sometime. You will find a nugget; just keep swinging.
