Hi Ron,
Sorry to hear about your affliction! As your doctor probably told you, the problem is too much moisture (sweat) in the problem area. This is a drawback of the cup style headphones you are using. You may want to consider a pair of Koss TD-81 phones. They sit on your ear rather than around your ear. They are not as comfy as what you are using but you'll stay drier and hopefully you'll heal up. Hope this helps!
