Ralph, thanks for giving me the plug.

I have a modified V/sat; actially it is probably best identified as being a "V/sat+GM3." I also have a GM-3; but use it little as I want to keep it pristine; since my V/sat is essentually the same as a GM-3 thanks to Jimmy Sierra, White's Engineers, and Bill Lahr.

I wrote a few articles and also answered a suprisingly lot of "prospecting questions," a few of which were used in a Q&A column for Popular Mining. I was highly honored by Nancy Glen, Action Mining, as she gave me the GM-3, which I very graciously accepted. "Thank You Again Nancy!"

The last issue of Popular Mining that was published carries my field test of the GM-3. Actually, Nancy quit to devote her time and energy to Action Mining needs; Popular Mining magazine was in the "black." Back issues are still in demand and may be available through Cal-Gold.

Off the subject, the original V/sat was designed by Rod Redston and Paul Jones. This story is in one of Treasure Seekers magazine. Dean Chapman designed the frequency switch. Both Rod Redston and Paul Jones found a considerable amount of gold around Quartzsite. I met them there back in the early-middle 1980s before the Gold Bug or GM-ll. Rod was especially nice to my son, Doug, and guided him through finding his first nugget.

The Goldmaster series are good machines. Each an improvement over the earlier one. Larry Sallee wrote a great series of "Zip Zip" booklets on it. Larry has a great nose for gold. Jim McCulloch also is very knowlegeable and has written booklets and articles--- and Jim, if you are reading this: Where is Del Mar? The GPAA gold show? Give me a shout. Best, Jim Straight
