Hi Jim,

The GM-3 was and still is my favorite of the manual gold detectors. No nonsense, all-beef performance. Always liked the Goldmaster II and vSat too, but the little additions to the GM-3 seemed to be the "just right" porridge of the mix. Great machine. Never understood the over-engineered "4000:1" ground balance of the 4b, but it sounded good on paper and was a good selling point I suppose. Kinda like gold plated, high octane, variable compression hub caps...... (grin)
