Hi Matt there is a mod that they do called a silent disc mod-all it does is make the back ground hum that you hear when your in disc-silent- I did it to a sov I had and it was much better without the hum,its real easy to do your self all it involves is removing a clip inside the control box-you can get instructions off of one of the minelab-sov forums-theres also a all metal/disc remote switch mod that you can do also.Hope this helps-Mike C...AZ
