Subject: Impressions from today's demonstration
In reply to: Jeff Kinzli 's message, "Anyone compared X5 and MXT?" on 13:20:29 08/22/02 Thu

Jeff, I was not impressed by today's demonstration you & I attended. The only way it could be considered even "close" to the depth of the Explorer, was if we had the sens. maxed. That's not realistic in the field. I cannot imagine that MXT pulling silver dimes at 10" deep in parks, something the Explorer does consistently. As far as its ability to get close to, or under nails, it didn't do anything that any other coin machine can do. Ie.: it had no more advantage than, say, the Di pro, XLT, etc... So, unless a person wants to have a machine that can easily go from nugget hunting, to coin hunting, I didn't see much advantage. For those of us who hunt the beach storms, coins, and relics (no nuggets), it can't do anything that's not already in our arsenal. It does have a pleasant sound that would be great for beginners (not the "bong" of the motion discriminators, or the tooty fluty sounds of Minelabs), so it would make an ok, easy learning, general purpose machine, for beginners w/no other machines. Thanx again for inviting me to the demo!
