Subject: PI's and small gold nuggets

Hello All,

Over and over I continue to hear that the PI units, such as Minelab's, can not find small gold nuggets. I must say, I have at least 200 small nuggets, that I would have rather thrown through a drywasher, then spending several minutes pinpointing them.

Without a doubt the high frequency VLF's are much better on smaller pieces of gold, down to under a grain in size. However, in all honesty, I can use a drywasher and find pieces just as small, and much bigger.

I attached a picture below of some nuggets found with the Minelab GP Extreme and 14 inch Coiltek mono searchcoil. All these nuggets were found on bedrock, or slightly below the soil. Come on now, do I really want to find anything smaller than this......? That is why Keene developed the drywasher...! Right?

I have a place, not more than 10 minutes from my home, which I can shovel at least a pennyweight of crumbs through a drywasher in several hours. Most of the pieces are just sub-grain pieces though...

P.S. As you can see, PI units can find small gold nuggets. And as always, I'm willing to back what I say
100%.

Take care,
