Someone had a nice story to tell altho theres some places in Utah I wouldn't mind trying..Heres some Black Cr. gold the cr. dumps into the Indian River, Hughes Mining District, the gold is all pretty small I think I took this photo about 1990 using my old slow 8khz GT with 6" coil leaving it in Fix, I had found where the oldtimers had set up their sluice box and the ground underneath hadn't been mined. The sediments that were exposed with some digging had a lot of detectable gold in the material and I had a blast chasing the small pieces. Everytime I disturbed a handful, another nuggets position was changed and it was detectable, finally I just started screening the dirt and putting it thru my hand sluice. I did pretty well there in the 3 years I worked at Indian Mt. Lot of small gold came out of that creek...HH..Geo
