Hi Steve,

Thanks for the compliment but the real thanks goes to George Payne and Eric Foster. They have had the patience to provide me with the answers to my multitude of questions.

I posted the brief summary in hopes that people will have a little better understanding of why it is difficult to discriminate with a PI as well as how a Pi works.

Also, I hope if people have a little more knowledge about their detector, they will ultimately be more proficient with them. Too many times people will try to make a detector do something it cannot do well or at all.

By having a greater knowledge of what to expect and exploiting the better aspects of a particular detector, a person can improve their enjoyment and possibly increase the number of great finds.

Like I mentioned before, too many people try to make a detector operate in a fashion it isn't meant to do, or expect it to perform like a different type of detector. One can sort of equate this to trying to teach a dog to meow or a cat to fetch.

Reg
