I'm getting a special-whizz bang multi frequency autotune(GEB to White's owners) hearing aid. I think it has both the MXT, GMT, X5, and possibly sonar parameters. On the cutting edge of the latest technology in the hearing aid industy.

$3750; but due to discounts it will be $2495; pricing similar to a Minelab SD; however, it is much smaller in size. Currently there is only a behind the earmount (the electronic box) but the "searchcoil" fits inside the ear canal. Nope, it is not waterproof and doesn't have rechargerable batteries and battery life depend's upon your usage. Limited warranty--- not made by Tesoro. Also must attend a class on how to use it.

Hope it works; being severely "hearing challenged" (read "about as deaf as a post") not a good way to go.

What's the point of all of this information you ask? First, take care of your hearing, it cannot be replaced; I'm not going to blame spending weeks at a time as "cadre" in a training unit at a military rifle/machine gun range, then later a 105 Howitzer; or the crusher at Kennecott (McGill)--- or the rolling mills at Kaiser (Fontana)--- where it was necessary to shout to be heard; but just the Mrs. yelling at me for the past 48-years. And Second, if it wasn't for buying the hearing aid I would have "jumped" to buy the 17000 just to have the coils.

So watch out for the higher dcbls. of noise! Hearing aids do not help much. Not complaining, just explaining. Cataract surgery super-successful and the world now looks bright and cheerful.
