Subject: 10 Hours on the MiniDD Coil

This is a quick reaction to the new White's Mini DD coil after spending 10 very hot hours with it this weekend in extremely mineralized ground. I'm doing a much longer report per request from Jimmy Sierra, but my quick take is this: It's a great little coil and with only one minor drawback completes the Goldmaster coil arsenal in fine style. It is extremely sensitive to tiny targets, without being too noisey on the mineralization. It allows the GMT to be run at higher sensitivity & slower SAT in nasty ground. The drawback I mentioned is that, while bumping rocks doesn't cause it to false too badly, it is very difficult to use "snake-charming" back deep in bushes because anything that touches the wire creates falsing. More later, but I'd sum it all up by saying that you (we) Goldmaster series users don't have to borrow a Gold Bug 2 with 6" coil anymore to hunt tight spots or beep dinks...Cheers, Uncle Ron
