You are, of course, correct. But in defense of the Lobo I have seen it find lots of gold in the disc mode. Maybe they were missing some small nuggets, but I have two friends and my father, all with Lobos. In trash infested areas they have used the Lobo to great effect. Just do not set the disc too high!

I use the Gold Bug 2 in iron id mode a lot, but I have to vote for the Goldmasters as having the best system. No loss of depth, and yet iron id info to use... if you wish! The Bug in effect just rejects the suspected iron target. The Goldmasters alert you to an items possible iron content, but it's always your decision whether to dig or not.

The Gold Strike system is similar to the GMT's, but I have not used it enough to form a solid opinion of it.
