Mark,
When all is said and done with respect to which machine has the best iron discrimniator or ID system, you pays your money and takes your chances. The only 100% cast iron sure method of not missing any gold is to DIG ALL TARGETS!!!
My Lobo SuperTraq, for some strange reason, doesn't discriminate out gold no matter how high I crank the discriminate knob. Set at about 2, it discriminates almost all nails and most small iron trash. You do give up some depth but I have a 40 grain nugget buried at 9 inches in my backyard and the LST picks it up fine with the discrimination set as high as 3. With the discriminator on it's best to go low and slow though.

I've had a GMT for a few months now and it is a hell of a gold machine. The iron ID works as advertised and after a period of trial and error you could learn to tell what might be under the coil via the ground mineralization and ground tracking VDI readouts. But, no guarantees. It is extremely sensitive to small gold, well balanced and, with the auto ground tracking, a joy to use as is the Lobo.

If one had the hard choice of picking the best all
around machine and could only afford one, the Lobo would be the detector of choice because of it's ability to discriminate making it a very good coin and relic machine also. It is also a pound lighter that the GMT.
Regards, RD
