Good Afternoon Reg,

Are you planning on detecting Cache Creek Park or Lost Canynon just west of Granite? I had detect west of Granite several times with a Sd2100 and now my GMT. What I found while detecting with the Sd2100; I ran into a lot of elecrical interference from several sources that cause the unit to act out even after tuning the unit.

About three weeks ago I had detected Cache Creek Park in sec 36. I found a lot of old placer claims marks along with an old wooden highbanker. There looks like a lot of good pay dirt for a highbanker.

As for Penn Mountain nearly all the gold and nuggets bearing ground is on property land or claimed up. I read a Geologist report saying the gold from Penn Mountain lies between 8000-10000 feet mark. Last year a large nugget was located somewhere along the creek.

Would you'd be interested in hooking up for a day of detecting? Here's my email RobertstrappIII@aol.com

I live in Canon City, Colorado and have a two hour trip to the central gold fields.

I started last year hibanking. However, after shoveling for eight hours and a gram flour gold to show for; I switched to detecting. Detecting is far easier and requires no permit/bond fees to enjoy the day.

As for French Gulch I heard of wire gold speimens being found in a tailing pile near the end to the creek just before the gate. I had detected there a few times finding mostly trash. The first time to the French Gulch I ran into five other individuals detecting for wire gold. A gentleman was a jeweler who had purchased a wire gold speimen from another gentleman that detect the speimen from tailing piles. The story was quite interesting, special when five other individuals show up to detect the same tailing pile.

I have several areas of interest to detect in Colorado. I believe nuggets can be found in Colorado. It will take time to discover the areas that have not be touch before.

Happy Hunting: Keep up good spirts.
