Subject: Nothing "obvious" about either machine....... YET
In reply to: Jim McCulloch 's message, "Yo, "Goler Gulch" Seden...." on 17:46:14 08/02/02 Fri

Not a dealer / shill, so I'll reserve judgement until I've tried out BOTH machines under actual conditions rather than using pure conjecture to state something like "obvious". Without getting some hands on with both units, that's a bit like making a statement that it's "obvious" it must be daylight all over the earth, since the sun is shining here at the moment...... :) Other coil sizes are planned (soon) for the X-5, and so far, I've seen nothing in the MXT to indicate to me that it would be a superior choice over the X-5 for nugget hunting. Actually, the X-5 has demonstrated so far to have the superior depth and sensitivity of the two, although I like 'em both. The digital display options of the MXT are also useful in some situations, while the X-5 is a meterless (and simpler) machine.

I think statements made about any machine prior to some actual hands-on experience with that particular unit are really a dis-service to potential users.

Sorry Jim, but I can almost smell the "concern" of some very serious competition in the air here for White's. Maybe you should consider contacting Troy and offering them both to your customers, and let them decide..... (big grin).

Personally, I'll continue the pragmatic approach and use what I consider best for the particular job at hand, and call 'em as I see 'em only after I've actually used the machine in question. Anything else would be nothing more than misrepresentation, plain and simple.

Just my thoughts on the matter......FWIW

Ralph
