I would spend a little time investigating this as for one you want to determine if the mine was a free milling deposit or a base Ore type deposit...You should be able to do some research at the U.S.G.S office, the State Division of Minerals or the BLM office, minerals division, There may be bulletins from any of these places describing any geologic investigations also the recording office will have some information on the original filing on the mine it will give a brief description of the type of deposit I would do this before you spend much time looking around and it is easy to do. Also a local university might have information on the minerals in the state or some history on that particular mine... HH...Geo
