Hi Randy,

That's why I'm sending the coil to Rattlesnake. So we can find out!

The mineralization around my area is mild. You just put a small coil on, jack your machine up to the max, and go to it. Small mild hot rocks that do not register on the stock coils do give weak signals identical to gold, but they are few enough as to present no real problem.

If an area was thick with them, then the small coils would have a hard time doing their magic. I don't care how you design a small coil, I'm betting if it hits hard on a 1/10th grain nugget then it's going to have issues with hot rocks and/or ground.

Anyway, I'm anxious to hear what Rattlesnake thinks of the 6" elliptical. I'm betting it works better than the 4" round he has tried. I hope so, as the elliptical form factor is no doubt what most people would prefer.

Final note... these are prototypes only, and so the actual performance or design of a factory produced coil may differ. Part of the idea here is to see if people are even interested in having White's produce the coils.

It's the first time since the Goldmaster II came out that I've heard the factory give serious consideration to the idea. If it does not happen now, it probably never will. Email Steve Houston at shouston@whiteselectronics.com if you would seriously consider buying a 6" elliptical coil that would work on any of the Goldmasters.
