Randy,

I was at the Valley Prospectors Burro claim for about 3 hours. Ran into Leslie Thomas (another VP member) from Joburg. A nice English chap. We had a good visit
and I help him shovel and carry about 1/2 yard of bank material from the wash on the west side of the claim. He took the material back to his hooch in Joburg and ran it there and uses the overburden to fill in holes in his property. Since the extract was just widening a existing wash and no holes to trip in, I guess there is no harm in doing it that way.

It was getting hot and I got a late start so not much luck in detecting. I wrapped up and went to Leslie's place in Joberg for a hour or so and saw his setup. After I left Leslie's I dropped back up at the Randsburg General Store for a soda and then I went over to the PCSC Pilgrim and Clark claims on the east side of Hwy 395.

Since I just go my membership in the PCSC I wanted to see what their claims looked like while I was out and about. I didn't see much activity on the Pilgrim claim but the Clark was well worked.

My results were not good for the day. Found the standard tiny pieces of lead and a few pieces of what looked like decayed rusted and the GMT didn't show them as iron. I kept going thinking that there might have been a small piece of gold in the mix but didn't find any.

Maybe next time, but it's fun just getting out and looking.

Later,

Gene
