Hi guys,
I could'nt resist adding to this post. I can't remember how many or the weight, but one of my best (fun) days was on a patch I was working in a place called "Golden Grove" ummm it is sort of North East of Perth about 5 hours. Anyway I had found a bit of a virgin run there and had been dryblowing and detecting it for a few months. I had pushed all the dirt off it and was down to the hard pan (caprock). I had been getting some good bits out of the cap and had chained it of using a minelab 16000 with a huge Bob Holland coil. I then decided to give it a go with my little gold bug with a 24 inch coil..... well it was like I had never done it at all. In those days you used to have to chisel the gold out of the cap with a two pound hammer and a coal chisel,(my hands will never be the same from all the misses with that hammer), but like I said I had been working the spot and just happened to have a 40 ton excavator that I was using to dig the cap for processing through the dryblower. I got the guy that was working with me there to follow me around and dig all the targets in the cap, he woudl just stick those tiger teeth in and lift me out a scoop of cap and then spread it and all I had to do was pick up the gold out of the heap.... life was good, no more lumps from that hammer and another bucket full of gold.
Matt
