i agree whole heartedly Steve, my first detector was the "stinger" i did VERY well with it at Paradise Valley (better than anyone else, while I was there), and enjoyed it for about 4 years. It did wuite well in northern Ca as well (around Camptonville, on Oregon Creek)...........it will be interesting to see what the last (but not least) new line metal detector from a major manufacturer will do..........im sure that Garrett is well aware of the rumblings, and grumblings, and less than enthusiastic welcome to "the others", and will IMO not want to put out a machine that is looked upon in the same points of view...........we will see..................
