Hello Greg

I have been on the phone twice with Roy Evans in Imlay Nevada. He is pulling out gold in the severe alkali areas with the Gold Stike/6-inch shoe. I'm really impressed as I know the areas where he is hunting.

He is going out tomorrow and check out an specific area for me and then write down the machine settings and tomorrow evening I will call him about his settings and then as soon as I get and learn my Gold Strike I will go to an area in the Randsburg El Pasos and compare.

For those of you who get Lost Treasure magazine there is an article in I believe about the Feb or March issue by Dick Bosinski regarding the area. However we were there last July and Roy didn't get the Gold Strike until later.

However Roy has found four ounces of gold with it in the short time he has used it. As I mentioned earlier Roy uses the small 6 inch coil and is now only using the Gold Strike.

Incidentally, for those of you who get the ICMJ, Mas Kadonaga also wrote a an article with a different view point regarding the same trip. However they are both correct.

Roy said the two-tone takes a minute to get used to but he loves it! Also the 3-different memory settings and that he can track or disable the tracking as he feels best.

Roy will be on line soon and hopefully will be able to answer your questions. He has photos of his gold found with the Gold Stike and will try to eventually post them. Hopefully he will write an article or two for maybe the ICMJ.

I used to live in this area and it is like going back home when I visit. I worked for Eagle-Picher and did free-lance consulting work for the local mine owners. For those of you who know Smokey, I worked with his dad, Jake, back forty years ago and my youngest daughter was born in Lovelock.

I pulled out a lot of placer by drywashing-- an old handcrank puffer-- back at this time which I now find are good areas to detect.
