Otto, I agree with what fisher told you on running the sens low in order to keep the threshold in the -5 to -10 range. I consider the threshold as a "squelch control" as that is the most practical explanation of what it seems to do. By turning up the squelch to eliminate ground noises you are also losing the the deeper or smaller responses. An area that requires the sens to be set at 2 or 3 would definitely be some hot ground and if the nugget was found that deep, then I am truly impressed. We may just have the best hot ground VLF machine to date in this one. What we need to hear is how it is doing on the small stuff in the same conditions.
