Ray, Gold Crown Road can get pretty "nasty" in places, with soft sand, at times. Worst areas are about 6 and 8 miles in. My Chevy S-10 has no problems, but I am an experienced desert driver. "RD" is correct re: places to go, but then again he is speaking of about 10 square miles, with only a few "hotspots," which means that you will have to do a lot of roaming. When you come out, why don't you drag Randy Seden with you? By the way, April 1 marks the begining of the rattler season in the Dale District, so take care. HH Jim
