Subject: Good to be back and some questions

Well I'm glad this forum is back as I remember it being the most informative in terms of technical bits and pieces.
Well Ralph I have some old articles that you wrote about the Diablo Umax. What is your opinion of this detector now?
I am looking to purchase a cheap machine for hot ground, small gold, locating black sand deposits and detecing in creek beds, crevices etc. I have narrowed it down to a gold bug or diablo (small elliptical concentrics and non-motion modes), and maybe even GM 3 or 4 if one comes along, but I'm concerned that the GM's might be a bit too sensitive on the old bedrock.
Steve's already told me his thoughts but anyone else got any opinions.
Thanks
