Mohamed has covered the trail options very well, except for my first trip North Twin->W Bond->Bondcliff->Zealand with pickup at Zealand Road.

I have been to the highest Bond 12 times with only 2 all on trail. Four involved bushwhack both up & down from Franconia Brook. My experience is different from Mohamed's in that I feel the bushwhack actually saves time in the winter. In summer may take longer than the trail but the slides in the ravines are interesting from below as compared with yet another walk on the rocky wandering Bondcliff Trail. And you meet a lot fewer people: on my October hike I met a guy walking out by headlamp before dawn who had to work that day, and a couple walking back to their camp at Franconia Brook after dark, and nobody during daylight hours.
