Go SW :-)

Look at the map below and you will see some logging roads close to the SW peak that are not on the 1:24,000 map. It is probably easier to start from these than to go by the NE peak again. You could drive way up when I was there.

I never thought of Scar Ridge as thick, but I was never fool enough to climb it from Little East Pond :-)

Elephant has some easy stuff and some thick stuff not that far apart, you just need to be lucky :-)
