Subject: Winter boots

I'm interested in winter climbing but am confused as to what kinds of winter boots are most appropriate. Some people seem to swear by Sorels, some swear by plastic boots, etc. I'd like to go with Sorels myself because they're less costly and at least appear to be less fussy with respect to fit. Can you give me some guidance? For example, what kinds of Sorels are best suited for 4000-footers in winter? Will they accept crampons? Etc. Any guidance is much appreciated!
