You don't need a space in the top of your shoe (growing room) as you would do in normal shoes. Therefore you probably would come up a size or two smaller. Your feet would only be deformed if you wore those shoes every day for a number of years! Wearing them for a few hours a week at classes and competition won't deform your feet.
