Subject: Had to laugh. The other day a person posted on FB buy and sell irish dance page a photo of their daughters dress and one a dressmaker was selling saying that the dress maker copied it. I like the dressmakers dress better as it looked more Irish than the 'original' and less Asian. I love Asian trad fashion, but what is it with the Irish dancing dresses these days, some of the patterns and styles look Chinesey or South East Asian/Malayish. Or just dont look like dresses as at all! peiole are paying thousands for them. i dont get it at all. They all look the same eyesores anyway.
In reply to: ??? 's message, "Why is it so hard to find an Irish dancing dress that actually looks Irish?" on Fri, Sep 15 2017, 18:23:37"

  • Because fashions change and move on. (NT) -- Are you saying evrything has to stay the same all the time?, Fri, Sep 15 2017, 20:58:32"
  • Fashion? I don't thnk any anyone is writing about fashion. Fashion and Irish dance dresses are not synonymous. Okay, I've seen the occassional dress that wasn't made to look like a colourful parrot. (NT) -- I agree. When did the crystal craze start I wonder, once they lost the Asian market? Look at Scottish dancing, now they are dancing costumes to be proud off., Fri, Sep 15 2017, 22:15:14"
