Subject: You don't need the opposite syllabus until worlds itself, so no you don't need to learn them all from before you even qualify! Learn the qualifying (states nationals and worlds day 1) dances at the start of the year. Focus on perfecting them first as you need them first. If you qualify and intend to go, you then focus you efforts on MAINTAINING the first combo of dances, then learn and perfect the day 2 dances ready. And it's not a case of working on dances you might not needs because you're essentially then giving yourself a head start on the following years syllabus!
In reply to: crazy 's message, "I understand why they are doing it, but it will be like you need to decide that you are going to worlds and learn/perfect 6 dances even before you have qualified for Worlds. So every dancer now has to perfect 2 hard shoe, 2 soft shoe and 2 contrasting sets even though they may or may not go to Worlds. Just seems like all it will do is cost parents more to achieve the same outcome of 50 dancers in the fnal recall." on Wed, Jan 10 2018, 22:34:58"
