Author: IME 'Private lessons' like 'performance team' invitations are proven dance industry methods for getting starry eyed mummies to spend more with the dance teacher's business.
Subject: Looking at this from a different perspective: if some dancers are being invited to private lessons where the parent pays extra to the teacher, this is markedly better than the teacher giving over most of the general lesson times to one or two 'special' dancers. Not nice to realise your child and most of the class are there merely to subsidise lessons for one or two others.

  • I think it's more the fact that the private hasn't been offered to particular students, parents may be willing to spend the money. Also if its purely about making money to the dance teacher wouldn't she get more out of it by offering it to all the students? Just at least offer them to everyone and if you don't have the means don't give any. This just sounds like poor form from the dance teacher. (NT) -- IDM, Tue, Mar 27 2018, 0:24:31"
