Subject: NSW State Championships photo update:

Sunday presentation photos and Dance of Champions will be online this morning. However, dancing photos will take a few days...

For those of you who attended, you may have noticed the stage lighting was quite challenging and if you took photos, you will also have seen the unusual colours and contrast in your images. The dancing photos have all those problems, and others...

The centre of the stage was "hot", making light/brightly coloured dresses "flare"; the sides, where all the interesting steps and kicks happen, was almost pitch black, meaning photos were almost impossible to get.

For those interested, we were shooting 1/250 at f2.8 and auto ISO up to ISO3200, with either full or partial evaluative metering. No single setting solved the problem of hot/cold and bright/dark moving at high speed, so it was a very challenging experience.

It will take some time to give you usable photos :(
