• Just a tip to anyone buying a new dress. Do not order it with crystals! 2 reasons. 1- the increased value of the dress will result in higher import duty and GST when the dress goes through customs on arrival. 2- Buying and applying yourself will save you hundreds of dollars, not only in tax/gst but in the cost of the crystals themselves. You will save at least $500 just on the crystals themselves. That £600 is not the cost of the crystals alone, it is paying for someone to apply them as well.   • I will only speak from my personal experience over the past few years. I have had a number of dresses made for my daughter. The best quality without doubt has been Rising Star. Gavin dresses have also been very good. This year we went with another OS designer and the quality was beyond bad - horrible.   • If you paid by credit card, you can dispute the charge as the item received was not fit for purpose and/or not as described. My advice would be it's your money so just say no to the teacher, if he/she is not paying for the dress then they should have no say in where you spend your money.
