Author: This is our last year. 'Irish dancing' isn't Irish anymore. We'll keep our traditions alive another way.
Subject: I would be hard pressed to find one person who likes the present freak show 'look', the only people benefiting are the ridiculous designers $$$$ (NT)
In reply to: .. 's message, "Am I the only person who thinks the costumes have gone way over the top with diamontes and nothing celtic or irish about them. Maybe it's time the commission brought in some rules or design suggestions. They certainly can't go any shorter and only a couple of years ago dancers were forbidden to wear dresses deemed too short, Parents are so gullible that they're paying whatever they're told. Any price to be different." on Wed, Jul 10 2019, 15:39:49"

  • Such a pity that such a beautiful dance form has been destroyed by a small select group of greedy people who believe they can produce anything, no matter how ugly, and the commission will agree with it. Makes you wonder. Is TRADITIONAL Irish dancing a thing of the past or is the commission going to wake up and make some costume rules that pull back the ridiculous bling. Love the "Black Out Feis" and so do all the parents (NT) -- .., Thu, Jul 25 2019, 20:38:15"
  • Just read a post on the US board from someone saying that they paid £2360 for a dress, that's $AU4228 ! (NT) -- -, Fri, Jul 26 2019, 9:03:39"
