Hi fellow posters. I wonder if you all could leave a note of encouragement for Lori. Her kitty passed away during the night and her children are upset too. She had emailed asking for advice and spent the night next to the cat but noticed she was no longer breathing. Can you put words of encouragement or consoling for our friend who is hurting right now?

Losing a pet is like losing a loved one in my eyes. Prayers to the spirits and thoughts go out to Lori. Just know that the kitty has evolved into something more for our world and is in a better place and no longer struggling.

I believe animals have spirits. My 18 year old cat died about 2 years ago. I could feel him walking on the bed beside me.
I now have a miniture daschund(?). A friend of mine says he is an old soul. He has died and came back.

It is hard to lose a loved pet, whether a cat, dog, bird, etc, etc. They are a part of the family. Always loved, always missed, always remembered.

My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your kitty. I have lost beloved cats in the past and am sure I will do so in the future--I have 13 at the moment, but all are young, so I'm not anticipating losing any soon. I have grieved over each one; some more than others. The only way I've ever found to comfort myself is to remember that they just don't live as long as we do and all we can do is love them as much as possible, take the best care while we have them, and say goodbye knowing they could not have had more love or better care. I hope you feel better soon.
