I was actually ready to give up on Secret Circle as well. It's been so slow moving, but John Blackwell has completely renewed my interest. I'm very intrigued with the character and he's played by a fantastic actor! They need to keep him around.. he's the best thing about TSC.

I am a Joe Lando fan. I watch DQMW on GMC and INSP. The reason I watch The Secret Circle is because of Joe. He adds so much to the show. He pulls everything together. The other adult actors do not have the appeal of Joe. The casting people made a good choice for John Blackwell. He and Cassie seem to have established a good rapport. If The Secret Circle is renewed and Joe is not asked to continue his role, my interest will dwindle.
Joe has a loyal fan base. They have followed him from DQMW untill the present.

I completely agree with you.
I began to see TSC, when I learned that Joe would take part in the show. Joe is a fantastic actor and he can count on his fans following him for a long time.

Ditto that Marina. I too also started watching TSC when Joe came on board. Not the kind of program I am used to watching, but did it because of Joe. It has been so great to see him on a weekly program. He has done a wonderful job with the part of Blackwell and I will follow him down whatever acting path he chooses.

I was watching the show from the beginning, but I was almost to the point as well to stop watching it. I felt it would not be picked up for a season 2, so why invest my time into the characters? And then boom! Joe Lando was added to the cast in the pivotal role of Blackwell and now I get excited to see the show almost as eagerly as some of the young people do because of the teens in it. He is fantastic. I agree with others here. If the show does not bring him back for the now known season 2, I don't think I will be interested in watching it.

Penni, please cite where it is posted that the show has been picked up for a second season. When I spoke to Joe this weekened he didn't know yet and everything I read has said "no word yet on renewal." Thanks!

According to TVLine.com TSC is a "safe bet" therefore its not officially renewed

http://tvline.com/2012/01/03/2012-renewal-scorecard-whats-coming-back-whats-getting-axed-whats-on-the-bubble/

We probably won't know about the show's status until May upfronts (networks present their fall schedules to advertisers, etc. in NYC)....CW's is usually in the middle of May.

Thanks Lauren. I was looking everywhere. I read they wanted to see how some spring pilots did before they decided.

Yeah The CW have a lot of pilots developing at their end(Green Arrow, Joey Dakota, The Carrie Diaries , some medical drama, a Hunger Games-type of show and I think more lol) so...I guess they want to see which ones are promising to air next season.

A good sign is...they're not "burning off" TSC episodes like they are with Ringer (whose season or possibly series finale is in April...just assuming). They're saving the last episodes towards May sweeps. From what I remember (I actually went to a CW upfront, but only to get autographs outside etc. lol) they may announce it days or hours before their Upfront presentation.

I've been reading...should TSC come back, it may have a Friday night airing.

*Fingers crossed* it gets renewed and Blackwell doesn't die.

Yeah I think there's a 2 week break after Sacrifice airs next Thurs. So starting mid-April they'll be airing new TSC episodes straight through.

Ohhh thats the full season (for this season) pickups for TSC and Hart of Dixie. Initially when shows premiere, they'll usually have 13 episodes planned/in the can or whatever. If they're doing good...then the networks will order 9 more episodes to make it a full season (22 episodes is the norm for dramas when it comes to a full season).

But for next season...we have the waiting game until mid-May or so.

Penni, that looks like an old story, when they extended TSC season.

Well darn. Guess all I saw was full season and the rest became a blur. Sorry about that folks. I will patiently wait with Joe and rest of the fans to hear what fate is in store for The Secret Circle.

I wrote to the CW website and told them that I started watching Melrose Place when Joe was added to the cast. I did the same when he joined TSC. Blackwell is a juicy role. I hope many movers and shakers in the business see what Joe is capable of. Let the network know how we feel and fingers crossed Joe and TSC will be back next season.
