Jason,
I think I know your dad, I was in A 3/79th during that time. I would like to be able to speak with him and I could tell you. All the things you mention I remember, I played a lot of softball while I was there. I played for the Battery, the Battalion and a community team of fast pitch. I also played Football there, I believe your dad was in Charlie Battery with Service above him, they had most of the females. I will send you some pictures to show you how the place has changed, I'm sure your dad would like to see the changes as well. Say Hi to him for me, and yes we had some great times at rivers. I really didn't like the Barracks rat that SGT Day talked about, they always tried to bring down a unit. Oh yeah, I just moved from Marshall housing ti the states, the Imbiss on the corner is gone, there is a fence around the housing areas as well, the school by the Keller theater is now the Giessen Middle/High School.
