Although I was not with the 3/79th It has been a pleasure to find this web site. I was with C battery 6/9th FA. Or as we used to call it the "sick of the nineth" I was there from 74-75. Had some good times, met some great people and probably killed some brain cells on that stuff we used to smoke out in the woods behind the track line. Young and foolish but we laughed are butts off. The beer, brats and the macht nichts man who sold all kinds of garbage just outside the front gate are just a few of the fond memories. Walking guard duty around that damm PX with a freaking baseball bat in freezing cold. Constantly working on the 175 gun. It was broke down more than it ran. Ration cards, Jagermeister and tucking as much hair as you could up under that ball cap to keep from being told to get a hair cut. Trips to Frankfurt on payday, some place called the Crazy Sexes. My gun crew told me about that. Hell, I stay back and wrote letters home. right! Thank you for this site, I am now blind and use a special screen reader to use the computer and it has made my day to read these posting.
Thanks
Frederick Stone
