I served in the 340th (Redisgnated the 511th MI Co.) from August 83 to November 86. I got there just after the resignation. Commander was Capt. Get, 1st Sgt Rhoads (sparky), My Team leader was John Hopper from California (he married a German girl and left Germany in Sept 83. There was guy named Hank (Henry), John Herron, Paul (Ronnie) Harris. SSgt Knight (country red-neck with a ton of VHS movies). SFC Morris, SSGT Danny ?? (from Colorado) 11 Cav was moved to Ft. Irwin CA in '94. not sure what became of the 340th/511th. Downs Baracks Closed in 94. When I got to Fulda, I lived in the "new" barracks for the 511th on sickles army airfield. The "new" barracks opened in July of 83 and Closed in 94. I stayed in through 89. Served in Special Intel for the Navy - Adak, Alaska, although I was in the Army the whole 9 years I was in. Give me some names, I may remember them.
I just picked up a picture down at our Good will store. Was from the 501st. Air Squadron (Illshiem Germany) Drawn by Ann Cross in April of 1981. (Cobra and an OH)
