I will ask him and try and have him post here as well. I was 12 when we moved to Ft. Knox so there's a lot there I don't remember. I do remember a lot of softball games and going in to work with my Dad from time to time late in the evening. Seems like he had an office on the second floor of one of the buildings that soldiers lived in. I remember the women lived on the third floor and the guys lived on the second floor. I also remember they used to have a field day on that softball field every year for families. I remember people trying to climb the greased pole(I dont think anyone ever did). Me and my brother always seemed to end up playing in those bombed out buildings. We lived in marshall housing area near the elementary school. We used to have a blast. It may not have been fun for alot of you guys but as kids we loved it. We had a movie theater, arcade, and bowling alley right next to the neighborhood. The PX was a couple blocks up the street. And the swimming pool was a few km away. We also had 2 "imbiss"(spelling) stands on the edges of marshall housing area. I think I ate a curry wurst and pomm fritz(sp?) every day for 6 years. Then there was the ice cream truck and the beer truck that came by often. We used to drink Kinder beer. My dad used to give us 10 dollars a week which was around 30 marks then. That bought alot of food :).
