 under a blanket
of velvet
iron stars

surrounded by the
dangling fingers
of my old willow

this is where dreams
are bred
& shaped

fables & folklore
come to life
in the pours
& wrinkles
of this familiar place

darkness touches my breath
while my eyes
focus & adjust
to the color of death

wind whispers songs
of seduction and lust

as i tip-toe & dance
throuh the prickly
tentacles of groping brush

Lady Spider
and Sir Incest
tap dance
across my flesh

in this place
i am alive
powerful
pure
& alone

feeding the dust fire

a creature in the trees
spinning my web
of revolutionary
conspiracies

while the moon
in full flight

so many beautiful things
to see tonight

the umbral shadow
ends the day

& i celebrate

..the battle has only begun
