Queen Elizabeth the second of the United Kingdom is well known for her diplomatic skills and her ability to remain unflappable under the most difficult of circumstances. But the patience of the much loved monarch was sorely tried, when she had Barack and Michelle Obama visiting in Buckingham Palace a couple of years ago.
Not alone did the thunderous snoring of the president's wife keep most of the inhabitants of Buckingham Palace in a state of irate sleeplessness, but when the Queen and Prince Philip came down to the President’s suite to complain, they were met by the sight of the first black President of the United States gibbering with fear, because a psychopathic brain eating zombie was about to feast on his quivering brain.
You might ask yourself how this extraordinary scene came to be acted out in Buckingham Palace in the first place.
The answer to this question is to be found in the hilariously funny and irreverent political satire “The Zombie, the Cat and Barack Obama” by Christopher Antony Meade. The answer to a lot more of the questions, which bedevil the public is to be found there as well, such as what really happened the body of Adolf Hitler, the true origins of the Illuminati and the real secret of Area 51. The explanations of all those mysteries are as original as they are funny. Mr Meade has managed to pull off a satirical tour de force. If you read nothing else this year, read this book. Be prepared to laugh a lot though.
