Subject: Student teachers...there's good student teachers, and there's bad ones. Last year, I had awesome student teachers that were either more fun or better (surprisingly) than my regular teachers. This year, I've had really bad student teachers. Well, except for English. The English student teacher will actually /listen/ to other people's opinions, unlike the Witch. The Witch might still explain things a /little/ better, but only because she has bloody experience; she still doesn't listen. "Atticus isn't a mockingbird because he's not young and innocent, and that's just fact". Okay, so those weren't her /exact/ words, still, you get the idea. She'd cut us off before we even started explaining why Atticus could indeed be a mockingbird. *growls* Plus, the student teacher in English brings us candy sometimes (for holidays or as rewards for little class games we play...you get the idea). Consequently, we like her a goodly bit. But yeah...

[> [> Student teachers...I understand that they need to gain so many hours of experience to become real teachers but why do we have to be the guinea pigs? I've had maybe two good student teachers. They all try and teach things their own way and it's usually very confusing but I don't know...I can't think of what else to say. -- Charlies, 07:12:00 03/06/04 Sat

[> [> [> My opinion is that the student teachers can make us their guinea pigs for ONE day, with the teacher watching, and then if they do good and the students can learn well from him/her (shoot, they could hand out an evaluation form at the end of the class period), then the student teacher can continue teaching. If not, the student teacher is demoted to position of TA and observer, and may - perhaps - be allowed to try again somewhere around a month later. That would have spared my chemistry class so much grief last semester... -- Void, 19:12:45 03/08/04 Mon

[> [> [> [> Sounds like a plan, now all we have to do is write a letter to the government telling them that their plan sucks and ours is better! My ST (student teachers) actually do hand out little evaluation sheets when they're teaching period is up and it does us no good. -- Charlie, 05:16:55 03/09/04 Tue
