Subject: Vintage Lemon Squares

Lemon Squares

1 ½ cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
½ cup melted butter or margarine
½ cup brown sugar packed
¾ cup flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

Mix altogether until crumbly then in a 9 x 9 pan, pour ¾ of this mixture over the bottom, packed good and firm.

Filling:
½ cup lemon juice (2-3 lemons)
1 tsp lemon rind
1 can (300 ml) Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk

Mix altogether, pour over the graham cracker base, then sprinkle remaining mixture over the top. Bake 20 minutes at 350F.
