Subject: Sweet Dill Pickles

SWEET DILL PICKLES
1 large jar of whole no-garlic dill pickles
2 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar (CIDER is important)
1 tsp. each mustard seed and celery seed
Drain pickles and discard liquid. Mix sugar,
vinegar, and spices in large glass or stainless
steel bowl. Slice pickles about 1/3 inch and
add to sugar/vinegar mix. Stir well and then
occasionally until sugar dissolves, usually
about 3 hours. Refrigerate.
